If you head for the World Museum or Walker Art gallery, Central Library is worth checking out for the interiors, both the new (refurb) and old architecture.

Generally, there's a lot of good Victorian & Edwardian architecture interspersed with late Georgian (again, see WP)

Great place to visit if you're at all interested in GLAM (galleries, libraries, archives, museums). I hear the footie and music scenes are quite good too ;)
